Note that if you wish to handle the CSV file in spreadsheet software, e.g. MS Excel, remember to select UTF-8 as character encoding, since some non-numeric fields of the database contain non-ASCII characters. To ensure the data to be displayed correctly in the spreadsheet software, "Import" option should be used rather than just copying and pasting. You may also save the dynamically generated web page, but formatting based on CSS styles will be lost in this case.

GMAP is a plate reconstruction program written by Trond Torsvik. In its standard VGP configuration file, rock type (CLPOL CODE), declination (DEC), inclination (INC), α95 (a95), site latitude (GLAT) and longitude (GLON), pole latitude (PLAT) and longitude (PLON), dp (Dp (F)), dm (Dm) and age (AGE) values are stored. Be aware that PALEOMAGIA entries without information of dp and dm are not included in the query if you select the data output to be in a GMAP compatible VGP file. The Gplates plate tectonic visualisation program can also read GMAP files.
